Peripheral vision, Sun glow
Peripheral vision, Sun glow
The light of the setting sun shines
through my window, below the blinds.
I can not actually see the sun-
but out of the corner of my eye
my hair shines bright like golden thread.
Although, even as I write this now,
the light on my hair rapidly grows
dimmer as the sun sinks lower.
Now my hair seems to burn like embers
of coal in the fire, deep dark red.
But I see now in my hair
that the sun must have only passed behind
a cloud and it is almost as bright as before-
maybe a bit more orange this time,
like a steady flame that burn warm in
the fireplace for a while more.
